Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely grasp a flow speed distribution of molten iron at the furnace bottom for obtaining the long service life. SOLUTION: In a method for detecting the flow of the molten iron at the furnace bottom in a blast furnace, respective different kinds of tracer materials are charged into plural tuyeres 7 during the operation of the blast furnace and each tracer material in molten iron tapped from a molten iron tapping hole 4 is measured with time by using a tracer material measuring means 5. Then, each tracer discharging state is compared with a prescribed reference value to estimate the flow of the material at the furnace hearth and the furnace core state.
